CONRAD (Cooperative Neighbourhood Regeneration Against Deprivation) was a cross-border project on social and urban regeneration. Launched in April 2004, it brought together communities from the Dunkirk area in Northern France and North Kent in the UK. CONRAD was supported by the North Kent Gateway Partnership and was part-financed by the European Union up to 50% through its Interreg IIIA programme.
Vesperal - North Kent is a photography project that aimed at putting into perspective the North Kent neighbourhoods of Twydall and All Saints in Medway and Swanscombe in Dartford with the artistic effect that twilight brings to the lens and through the eyes of residents'.

Do You Have Faith in the Gateway? A community cohesion Conference
The recently approved funds to develop a conference aimed at improving Community Cohesion will take place on 27 March 2008 at the Corn Exchange, Rochester, ME1 1LX.
Peter Southcombe, Chair of the North Kent Community Forum commented, “Community Cohesion is high on the government agenda and the opportunity to bring faith group leaders and individuals together with Community and Voluntary groups is a wonderful chance to develop the necessary steps toward improved understanding and cohesion in our communities.”
“The conference title – Do you have Faith in the Gateway? – is double edged and intended to be contentious. We will use the event to highlight a little known fact that Faith Groups are responsible for delivery of an enormous amount of the community and voluntary work undertaken at present. We plan to use the conference to illustrate the point that these groups tend to have the available resources, in terms of buildings and people, to accommodate community driven services. We will also update delegates with the present state of play in the Gateway.”
Peter concluded by saying, “Faith in the Gateway and North Kent Community Forum are closely linked and work with Local Development Agencies and Authorities to bring about the services needed by residents of the Gateway area.”
The conference takes place on 27 March 2008 and the venue has been confirmed as the Queens Hall, Corn Exchange, Rochester ME1 1LX. Full details and registration forms will be available through the website at www.faithinthegateway.org and www.nkcf.org.uk
